Our Story
X-Field Outfitters was founded by a team of dedicated hunters who
believe in an unparalleled quality of hospitality and guiding services. Decades of professional hunting and guiding experience, our team is well equipped to host your party on a premier hunting adventure.
The X-Field team will expertly schedule, plan and execute the adventure of a lifetime you deserve. Our team of professional trained guides and scouts will ensure a great shoot on every hunt.
Our hunts are located in the Pacific & Central flyways. We are licensed to operate on over 6 million acres of premier sloughs, ponds, fertile checkerboard crop feed fields, staging rivers & lakes for the large migrations that Alberta is famous for.
We pride ourselves on our attention to detail, a wealth of local knowledge and years of experience in the local farming and hunting industries, relationships within the local communities, the ability to maintain a high level of service and comfort levels, all while providing our clientele with an unforgettable premier adventure of a lifetime.

Our Guide Team
Claude Lachance
Guide
With over 34 years of waterfowling experience and more than 20 years as a guide, Claude brings a wealth of knowledge to the field. His journey also includes 16 years of dedicated service in the Canadian Army, with deployments to Afghanistan, Norway, Cyprus, the U.S., and various locations across Canada. Additionally, he is a licensed Red Seal Automotive Technician, boasting over 30 years in the trade.
Since 2010, Claude has proudly owned and operated his own waterfowl guiding business, which expanded in 2014 to include the crafting of his own duck and goose calls.
Claudes guiding efforts have primarily focused on Ontario and Quebec, where he has honed his skills in hunting Canadas, mallards, teal, wood ducks, and greater snow geese. He also possesses valuable experience in guiding and scouting in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
A true enthusiast of Labrador Retrievers, he spent a decade guiding alongside his loyal Chocolate Lab, Chance, who lived a full life of 13 years. Currently, he is enjoying the growth of his energetic 3-year-old Black Lab, River hunting by his side.
Cody Crosby
Founder & Guide
Cody was born and raised in the rural south shore of Nova Scotia, Canada. From an early age he was raised with an appreciation for the great outdoors. Much of his childhood consisted of waterfowl and big game hunting with his father, grandfather, uncles, cousins and friends. Waterfowl hunting for ducks and geese across ponds, lakes, rivers and salt water tidal marshes in Nova Scotia, and hunts over crop fields in Prince Edward Island created the obsession at an early age that still continues on to this day.
In 2010, Cody relocated to Alberta, Canada and has thrived here ever since. Continuing to enjoy his passion for hunting and the great outdoors on a much bigger scale over his years here has only added fuel to the fire. With the much higher populations of big game and waterfowl driving his obsession it was inevitable that his dream goal was to go on and become a licensed guide and co-founder of X-Field Outfitters. The Waterfowl hunting obsession is in his blood, and his passion reflects in the services he provides for each and every one of his clients.
Phil Wiszniewski
Guide
From a young age, waterfowl hunting has been a deep-seated passion for Phil. He spent countless days shadowing his father on hunting trips, and even after 34 years, he continues to hunt alongside him. What began as a simple interest has evolved into a full-blown obsession. At the age of 21, he embarked on a journey as a guided waterfowl hunter in Quebec and Ontario, a pursuit he still actively engages in today. For the past four years, he has also been guiding hunts in Alberta and Saskatchewan, which he considers a true waterfowl paradise. His days are filled with hunting and guiding, dedicating all his time and energy to the pursuit of these waterfowl migrations Canada is renowned for. His unwavering love for waterfowl hunting and guiding remains a constant in his life and reflects in the service he provides to his clients every day.
